The Journey

I was warned not to shift my location. Few thought I should leave, few thought I would be good if I leave.

I decided to leave for I needed a change. The fact that change is the only permanent thing in this world was the first lesson taught to me during my management course. It went on true for me very well. When tripleR proposed, God disposed.

The train was scheduled for departure at 0700 hrs from the central station. The plan was to start at 0400 hrs and get the first train from my local station. With all my things packed up my entire three baggages were heaving. All set to leave next day morning. Waking up at 0300 hrs, it was pouring heavily outside. My plan was crushed. The entire luggage would get drenched before I reach my local station in the pouring rain. With no other option left out, I called up taxi guys. As it was raining heavily, few said they can’t cover up such a long distance from my home to city and few were booked for the time I needed them.

With repeated calls finally a cab was booked. Dad and bro said they would come to help me with luggage till I board the train. I did not want to get them strained as it was raining heavily and bro had exams too. Finally waved my hands to everyone and started by 5. Thought it was fine and would reach the central station on time. The cab stopped suddenly. Enquiring on what had happened, I was asked to push the cab to get it started again as there was a starting trouble the engine. Oh my God, that holy morning I got drenched in the few min I stepped outside. I would have pushed few metres; the cab did not get started. I sensed that it was some major problem. Yes it was… the fuel got empty. Now, I started thinking on whether I would be able to board the train or not. My mind started thinking on alternatives. Then the cab driver took a can and ran towards the petrol station, which was about half a kilometer away from where the cab stopped. He told me that he would take me to the station on time and not to worry. When someone tells something confidently, they will surely make it. I just asked him to do it ASAP. In few min fuel was ready and we started towards station. Rain started pouring heavily, and had no other option other than to go slow. Somehow, managed to reach station 10 min before departure time. I was completely wet when boarding the train. That was a great send off for me from the city I had lived for so long.

24 hrs later I am in a new city that I am completely unaware of. This new city was also pouring heavily when I got down. Again left out drenched. I couldn’t take it as a grand welcome by the host city, but had no choice other than to accept it. I love rains, especially when thunder and lightening strikes. But, this time I felt annoyed…

The journey will continue…

MDR (My Dear Readers)

For those who have tolerated with my writings so far, there is a small (not big) relief for you guys. You need not worry that you have started to read a post and have to finish it. Introducing "peek-a-boo" in my blog, showing the summary and the rest of post separately. If you like to continue reading you can expand it, or else shut down your comp.

Thanks to Deepa. She had been instrumental and had spent over 45 mins to make me understand and hack the code :)

Go away; you are spared in this post! Still if you want to stay here, you can play with expanding and collapsing the "i have written more..." and "no thanks, keep it yourself" links. In fact, I enjoy the small pleasure in the way it expands and collapses.

We the People

I was pondering over our 60th independence celebrations. Next year it would be 61, then 62, then 63 and every year it keeps counting no matter whatever happens. So, why was such hype built to celebrate the 60th year? Newspaper, Magazines, Marketers, Advertisers are suddenly associating Indian flag along with their brand, logo and are wishing people. All for that one single day!! For office going people its a holiday to chill out in home; for college and school goers, its a holiday to meet friends and hang out. I felt these are unnecessary hype and it's not worth it. But it was all till I came through some interesting news and pics.

There are lots of facts and figures on every sector over 60 yrs of Independence. One news that I read was, during 1950's Milovan Djilas, a famous intellectual of Yugoslavia had said that India would not last the decade as a unified nation. He had said that with the then multi ethnic, multi lingual, multi cultural, multi religious situation of country. I also read that even the strong people of the Independence Movement were unsure of themselves, given the noise around them predicting that we will collapse. We the people have lived up to make it false. Oh Yes! We have...

For those who have thought that we would fight on religions - in our country the hindu majority still lives together, peacefully for the most part with the second largest muslim population.

For those who have thought we would break on culture - in our country we have proved that the differences we have are our strongest safeguards.

We have mastered and lived up to the mantra "Unity in Diversity". When you say "I am an Indian" to the rest of world, you receive an unique respect.

There were 2 more pics which I saw today;

Above is the celebration in Times Square, NY and bottom is the Orkut Logo displayed in the site on the eve of our celebrations. Likewise, Indian Independence is been celebrated all over the world.

What else is required for celebrations?? I see some individuals celebrating their 60th birthday. Imagine 100 crores people living together to make it happen for a nation! After all, a nation is nothing but individuals living united and we the people have lived and will prosper. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

Shortcut to the Foreign Land!

pls view the post in IE6+. or else it will appear as like another version of tamil ;))

இன்னும் எழுதுவார்கள். looks like marrying a guy working in a software company is a shortcut to go abroad for girls. அதுவும், வேலை செய்யும் office'இல் onsite option இருக்க வேண்டும் என்ற condition வேறு! பெண்கள் எல்லோரும் மிக தெளிவாகத்தான் இருக்கிறார்கள். working in a software company has become a mandotary requirement for the girl to choose the boy .

We people have to overcome the lure of foreign lands. We should invest our brains in our country. Looking for exciting opportunities abroad is rather paradoxical - அப்படீனு சொல்றார் ஒரு NRI. அவர் ஒரு சாதாரண NRI அல்ல. He is one of the world's leading millionaire.

HAPPY FRIENDSHIP WEEK!!

I am tired on hearing/receiving numerous versions of messages about friends and friendship. Everything is written in some situation and they never reflect the true sense of the relationship. I did little research of what friend and friendship means, obviously through Google and Wiki. Nothing pleased me. I started to think and decided to write my version of what friendship is all about. A bit from all messages and mails were true but did not satisfy me on the whole. To me, words don't appeal all the time especially when it is some kind of commitment. I believe in action than words. So, when someone says me 'You are my dear friend...." and blah blah stuff, it doesn’t actually bother me. I too never tell anyone those kinds of lines. If said, I mean it. Because, I feel that’s a special relationship which needs to be respected and nurtured. Anyone can be a friend to anyone. There are no restrictions to it. Your mom can be your friend, your brother can be your friend, your wife can be your friend and anyone like that can be your friend. But anyone can’t be wife/mom/brother. That’s the specialty of this relationship. The next level of friendship with intimacy and romance becomes love. It’s just a thin line in between. A few understand & acknowledge it and others don’t. Unfortunately, they have been misinterpreted with contributions from the society we live and cinema has spoiled the spirit of love. Yet, friendship stands undisputedly. It’s truly an occasion to celebrate and honour your friends. HAPPY FRIENDSHIP WEEK. CHEERS!

It doesnt matter anyways!

I have seen people worrying about age, particularly females. Moreover, there is a lot of concern when it comes to marriage. This era has a practice of finding a bride much younger than the boy. That might be of the dominating male status which was followed. I dont encourage the dominating status in genders. Both genders are equal. I feel the boy and girl have to be of equal age when it comes to marriage. The trend has changed and changing much beyond. The boy is younger than the bride. Well, there is some chemistry in that and works out well. There are well known icons and celebrities too in that list. Sachin, Abhishek are examples. A friend of friend of mine is married to a boy younger than her and they live happily. Although parents feel uncomfortable with their kids adopting the change, I feel its a welcome change. Life is to live happily with loved ones.

"Ash is very endearing and a simple little girl" says Abhishek Bachchan who is younger than his wife by three years.

Disclaimer: I am not talking about Sex as Age is mandotary for it. tripleR will not be responsible for any misinterpretation felt. Upto the individuals to welcome or not to.

Logo for tripleR

The above is the so-called logo created in MS Paint for me by the No.1 Radio Jockey in Chennai - SPEED Dheena. An unusually down to earth person taking pleasure and enjoying everything, he spent about half an hour to do it. Atleast for the time he spent on this, I will have to preserve this logo. Its a good start in making a logo for tripleR(contributions are always welcome) that too by a happening personality in Chennai. Off the Cuff, I guess its a good start for me.

An equally wacky fellow, he added up Red spots around it and said "It adds up to your personality...". Oh my God!! That was the joke of the evening.

Catch up this guy every morning 7 AM to 11AM tuning to Chennai BIG 92.7 FM .

Potter Mania~Mahabharatha~Ramayana~Ambulimama~Panchatantra

Potter Mania is slightly decreasing in the city. It was actually disturbing me the fact that there were Qs in book stores to get the book on its FDR. What interested me was that some gentlemen who might find it difficult to get a packet of milk for their wives every morning were also standing in those Qs early morning at 6AM.

The response of the book was overwhelming the city and media says that its arguably most awaited book in history. (They meant the ages, not the history text book) This is the biggest achievement for Rowling and she has to be congratulated for the achievement. Not though for her achievement, I congratulate her for writing a series of books exclusively for children, be it fiction/fantasy/anything else. That’s the best thing I like about her.

I also heard people criticizing Potter books that they are spoiling our children and our own Mahabaratha and Ramayana are losing interest among them. I also read few columns on the same in leading dailies as well. To those out there, Mahabharatha and Ramayana aren’t meant for children. They are for erstwhile adults looking out fantasy/fiction forgetting the real world around them. Yes, I admit they are great epics and there is a lot to learn from them. But they have to be customized fitting to our interests if felt contemporary children have to show interest in those epics. If done so, there will be some groups emerging from nowhere to protest for customizing the great epics.

There were Panchatantra, Ambulimama which were equally interesting as Potter stories. Those did not have such marketing or promotional activities like Potter. I used to read panchatantra stories with fantasy and fiction. Children need better books suiting to the lifestyle and customs they are growing into.

Unfortunately, Harry Potter has become a style statement such that children who are strange to Potter are seen as distinct by their peers in institutions and parents are forced to get a book at least to showcase. But, somehow milk packets cant be kept in show cases, that’s why gentlemen hesitate to get them every morning I guess! We always have a valid reason behind every decision of ours., yeah!!

An Inconvenient Truth

I couldn’t sit for Al Gore's presentation (a) documentary for over one and half hours. It’s an inconvenient truth that I did it. Yet, the topic was alarming. It’s not to be ignored. It was about Global Warming.

Making of PASTA…

  1. Take 300ml of water (2 cups) in a pot and bring to boil

  2. Open pack and add
    Pasta
    Saucemaker
    11/2 tbs of Butter (optional)

  3. Cook for 8 – 10 min on medium flame, stirring continuously

  4. Allow pasta to stand for 1-2 mins with lid on, your delicious pasta is now ready7 to eat !

The above is the procedure given in the Pasta pack. Below is the procedure I managed to get through., It might help you as well., yeah! I swear…

Aim: To make a yummy pasta.
Steps:

1. Take 300ml of water (2 cups) in a pot and bring to boil. (I had additional cups of water nearby as a precaution, on a doubt that pasta was too much in quantity. I’m a bit smart when it comes to cooking; no running once the process starts ! )

2. Open pack and add
· Pasta
· Saucemaker
· 2 tbs of Butter
(You need to be very careful here. After the saucemaker and is added, the pot appears to be small for the contents in it., the mix starts boiling and bubble over in the heat. I somehow… managed it very simply. Just switched off the stove )

3. Cook for 8 – 10 min on medium flame, stirring continuously. (Omigod! Beware, this the difficult step. After the stove is lit, the mix again starts to overflow. Very difficult to manage. So, take the pot from stove, lit the stove, turn the flame to medium and then bring the pot back to stove. Keep the hand spoon ready to stir. Otherwise, you will have to switch off the stove again!!

Don just think that it will be over by 10 min exactly and start your Stopwatch. It will take 15 min approx. If you ask me for a shortcut to end the process fast, turn the flame to medium high from medium and keep stirring. When the flame is increased, more heat is produced. I am a science student, believe me!

Last but not least, the pasta size would have increased as its boiled. To test, take out a piece and try cutting it. It has to be smooth in the process.

4. Allow pasta to stand for 1-2 mins with lid on, your delicious pasta is now ready to eat ! (If you find excess water, nothing to worry, just transfer the pasta alone to another vessel without the water)

A pasta is now ready to eat. Huh!! I never knew its so simple to make a Pasta… I once had a bad testimonial from my friend’s mom that she was forced by her daughter to make a pasta! Probably, I should suggest this method to both mother and daughter.

End of day I had to take in some curd rice. Whatever food you eat my dear friends, nothing tastes like the curd rice and pickle at the end of day. Don’t miss it after you make and taste the pasta!

Result: ………………!! ( Try out and tell me)

the tripleR column!

Sunday newspapers are always my choice whenever I get much bored sometimes. I keep on browsing the papers twice, thrice to read each and every column. Given the fact that I sleep over a few lines while reading, there are few columns which interest me much. One such is The Shashi Tharoor Column.

The authors’ writing would be on current debatable national issues. The author takes up the issue right royally and writes tactfully leaving the decision on the issue to the readers sometimes. Well, that’s the authors’ style and the issues too cant be solved by an individual. I am a fan for that style of writing. One such issue is the Guruvayur temple issue.

It’s a sensitive issue and it might take more years for it to get solved. I was interested in the issue as I had my own experience while entering the temple.

Though I hail from South India, a dhoti has been a difficult costume for me to wear. My body build being slim, dhoti is difficult to fit in my waist. For getting into the temple, I somehow managed to wear it, but it was in a reverse procedure I guess. While entering the outer gate I was stopped and told that I will not be allowed into the temple. I had just reached and was not even near the main temple gate.(over there, men have to remove shirts as well). I was shocked and asked for an explanation, I was told that the dhoti procedure is the reason. Some section of people in Muslim community too wear dhoti the same way and that’s why I was stopped, making the security personnel think that I was a Muslim.

I then told him the real reason for the dhoti’s reverse procedure and had to remove my shirt – not to show my might, but to show him that I am eligible to enter the temple according to their rules and so called restrictions. I was wearing the sacred thread around. Wearing it in the right position is the only thing I know hailing from the community of sacred threads.

Whatsoever, God is equal to everyone. I don’t understand why some people don’t understand the truth and discriminate devotees. The Church and Mosque were very much considerate in receiving me for worship that too at time when I was preparing myself for Sabarimala during the karthigai season. I cant forget the humane in those who thought me the Bible when I asked for it and the procedure to worship in mosque.

We still fear to adopt changes though we know the truth before our eyes. We all need to have open Hearts and open Minds rather than opening trousers and shirts to worship God!

Chennai 600063, Enga Area!

You are always Welcome to Live a peaceful life here...

A decade and a half back when we stepped into our new house, there was nothing around. During rains, our house will look like an island surrounded by water. We need to pass on through knee deep water to get on to the main road. On the way there would be no street lights and it would be shit scary while passing through at dark times. That was the period, people started to settle down in Chennai 600063. Its located at the hill side, along the NH 45 route. Mostly people who were living in the area were working in Standard Motors which would be just a few yards away from their home.

Now, not only this particular place, but also the nearby places like Tambaram, Chrompet and Pallavaram are in a flourishing phase. Commercially as well as for living purposes the real estate in these places are on a high. The developments and lifestyle in these places have also geared up for an up gradation. Marketers, both retail and corporate are pitching in hardly in these places. I was amazed to see international brands like Honda, Shell, Samsung, Sony set up direct showrooms. Also the retail brands like Anjappar, Naiduhall, Bharat Petroleum are present.

In focus, a township is under construction in Chennai 600063 with multiplexes, IT park and hotels. A small hill which is open to public is a Walker’s Paradise in this place. Fresh air from the surrounding forests, roaring lion sound on a few occasions from the adjacent lion safari, neat path for walking, aerial view of the place are affairs that make the place a walkers paradise early in the morning. Will you like to hear a lion or crow/cock early in the morning!? I like to hear a lion roar early in the morning when I wake up. But, what I could do now is only hear it electronically, not live!!

A few kms further down south are another two townships under construction and further down a few kms from there is the Mahindra City. Diagonally north to Chennai 600063 is the place where the new airport is planned and diagonally south is the site for satellite town.

Altogether, the whole area is the next place to live for those who are tired with the current crowded places like Adyar, Kottur, Kotturpuram, Mylapore, Alwarpet, Anna Nagar and so on. I believe the next craze of city life will be the stretch in between the present Airport and Chengalpet. That’s going to be the next hub for both marketers and consumers.

b-e-a-utiful!

There are few things in this world which make you feel that you still exist amid the rumblings around you. You will be terribly off from the happenings around you sneaking your head to an artificial work. The self in you vanishes. You would have become a machine. Still, at moments like those there will be something which will bring out your self and makes you feel that you exist. You will again forget yourself, but this time, with your heart relaxing the way it needs to.

One such thing which made me so is the video below. This is what I call as b-e-a-utiful! Dont just see, Hear it, It will wake up your senses.

There was another picture which I received as a forward and the lines in the pic made much sense to my life at present. I call that as coincidence.

NO to Sivaji!

I am following up with the news about this movie right from the day the trio announced the project. A leading financial newspaper carried it in their first page and projected the revenue to be generated by this project. Then came few stills, cast, crew and everything else followed on. The movie is released now. Definitely I wanted to watch the movie as early as possible to catch up with the mania and put an end to the curiosity and hype created all these days.

I am offered tickets for today's evening show. But I denied the tickets............................................................................................................., because I have already watched the movie 3 times, ;) continuous 3 days and I generously made way for someone else who hasn't watched it yet. This is the first movie I am watching before, after and the day of release.

Believe me, it’s a movie strictly for the Superstar fans. I am a hard fan of the Brand Superstar. It’s full of style and the actor looks like how he featured during 1990's. It was good to see him like that. Speaking about the business generated by the movie; this is the movie which has evoked huge response from all over India. I heard 6 multiplexes in Bombay are running packed houses; this movie has made people all over India to look to South Indian Cinema.

Many theatres have been renovated to screen the movie. The theatre owners are damn sure in taking back their investment from the collections out of this movie. ‘Brand Superstar is the only reason’ they say. I had been to a theatre in Greater Chennai for viewing the movie. That theatre is a renovated one. They have renovated the theatre buying the seating arrangements, sound elements from a Multiplex which in turn has also renovated itself to a higher level.

It’s like the Keynes theory in Economics. Revenue is multiplied across sections from the producer to the poster guy. That’s the reason Superstar is a brand and it’s a festival when his movie is released. It’s a visual treat for his fans, after all that’s what audience expects from him as a Superstar.

Y Chat!

Yahoo thinks that it is doing something innovative. I do agree, but they have to realize that they are left behind. During 1998, some 10 yrs back from now was the time when Internet and Email started to spread in India. Hotmail, Yahoo, Mailcity were offering free email id's. The craze was on Yahoo. I being curious on Internet then registered myself with Yahoo and used to give my email id to all my friends to send me a mail. I was in fact the first student in that school to have an email id. Yahoo used to be colourful, stylish and fast too. I had registered a couple of ids with Yahoo then. Then other services like Photos, Groups started to roll out from Yahoo. They started giving out id's based on geographical locations. The database became huge.

Now, it looks like Yahoo is unable to manage with the database they have. The basic email service which they offer is v.slow. People are now looking for a sleek and fast service. Thats what has made Gmail click. More than the speed the chat in the Inbox is a cool feature. Yahoo has woken up late and I am happy they enabled the messenger in the mailbox at least now.

After a long gap of more than a year I am again starting to use the Yahoo Messenger. See you online!!

Movies, Actors and their work!

13 is an unlucky, haunting number for most of the people. Oceans 13 is not so actually for the team. A sleek, simple, stylish movie. I was watching it for the 2nd time yesterday. Brad Pitt and Matt Damon were my focus in the movie yesterday. Not to mention about Clooney and Pacino, they were at their best as usual.

Apart, the work from Brad and Matt made me think about the professionalism they follow in Hollywood. When you see regional films the character of a particular actor is carried forward to his next movie. The character of the actor portrayed in his previous film shadows in his next film too. Its not like that in Hollywood. I had watched Brad's earlier movie 'Babel' and Matt in 'Departed'. Both the films are of a different genre.

Brad played a role of a husband struggling to protect his wife who is shot during a tour to Moroccan Desert in the movie 'Babel'. A very tight packed emotional movie setting off a chain of events around the world, its said to be Brad's best performance ever.

Matt plays a role of an informant to the organized gangland chief in 'Departed'. He is implanted in the State Police Department by the chief. A war by the Police Department to set an end to organized crime, Matt plays the role with perfection and ease.

Oceans13 which is completely in contrast to their previous movies and their performance in the movie keeps you hooked and enjoyable. Overall, revenge is a funny thing for these guys in the movie. A movie worth watching provided you had watched 11 and 12 earlier.

The actors’ performances in the above movies are many thousand times far high than what we see regionally. The professionalism they display in their work is what differentiates Hollywood from Indian Cinema. Otherwise, Indian Cinema is on par with World Cinema. In fact, Indian movies and stars have an equal fan following with their Hollywood counterparts. Whatever it is, good movies with different genre always click in box office.

Sivaji!!

the latest buzz today is of course about the movie. The guy or gal who has the tickets in hand for the movie is in the limelight...There is a guy in my office who is overwhelmed on getting a ticket to the movie a day after the release...Not only the fans, the whole cine industry is waiting for the release...

almost every television and radio channel is carrying news on the movie regionally and nationally...75 crores budget, expected collection of 100 crores, asia's highest paid actor, superior technologies used for the first time, 600 graphics shots, industry's biggest names coming together for the project, every 100 ft having a banner/still/hoarding in the city, a mega brand called superstar., all put together, its just not only about entertainment., its all about business...

everyone waiting for the release with fingers crossed... just 2 more days to go...

Beany!

I have never liked the Mr. Bean episodes. I hate them actually. Still I do. But, I appreciate Rowan Atkinson as an artiste. He is definitely a versatile actor like Jim Carrey. I was reading few facts about Atkinson which was really surprising. Those facts for you now;
  • He went to school with Tony Blair.
  • His biggest passion and hobby: fancy racing cars.
  • He’s married to a gorgeous Hindu woman, Sunetra Sastry.

Isn’t it amazing; Read on...

Rowan's interest was in engineering and he is a topper with Masters in Electronics. He was so obsessed with staging skits of Buster Keaton and French comedian Jacques Tati and he used to play pranks on all his masters. However, it was his headmaster who asked him to seriously consider a career in entertainment.

He fell heavily in love with a very attractive BBC makeup artiste called Sunetra Sastry…but it took months for him to ask her for a date. There is enough evidence that Sunetra Sastry is the biggest love of his life than anything else and fiercely protective of her too. That’s now a trivia which Indians will wonder about!

However he is funny on screen, he is a bravo in his real life. Flying over Kenya in a private Cessna, the pilot passed out of acute dehydration and Rowan, despite any flying experience brought the plane back in position avoiding a disaster. The pilot was then revived by his wife and then it landed safely in Nairobi. This is an episode which makes even the die hard haters of Mr. Bean stand up and clap for Rowan.

People who make others laugh with their sense of humour have been the most courageous in heart. I still hate Mr. Bean, but admire Mr. Rowan Atkinson.

the 'Q' is dead!

Internet is accelerating in a fast pace. For those staying behind, it’s not late to get going with e-commerce which is slowly changing the way businesses were happening! Gone are the days of “queue” to get things done... you would have stood many times for many things... the most annoying of those would be waiting for a train ticket, air ticket, food coupon and similar essential things in life.

Now everything is online... use your artificial extended hand (mouse) and click to get everything at your doorstep via internet... The latest in those series is from the F&B industry... Check out http://www.hotbriyani.com/. Register yourself and you could be lucky to get a sample pack of mouth watering Chicken, Mutton and Veg Biriyani free of cost in your doorstep on June 12 2007 if you are residing around Besant Nagar and Adyar.(Now don’t get watered in your mouth reading this…Your monitor will get spoiled! ;))

Another website which made much sense is http://www.globalflowerdelivery.com/ which delivers flowers, cakes and chocolates around the world. These sites are just an example of the technology and concept which is going to take over the B2C industry in an amazing way.

The network of networks provides vast opportunities for business and the saying “Make hay while the sun shines!” does flashes in my mind…

Thats me on board "Sekhizhar". There was one more ship named as "Sundaranar". btw, Sekhizhar and Sundaranar are Tamil Literature poets...

A Sunken Ship. No history!

This is a zooooom shot as like the enemy view... "Is the Black pearl ready to attack the cargo!?" ha ha...

In the deep blue sea, sailors in action!

Oh My God!! (Enna Koduma Sir Ithu!!)

Enjoyed two posts from fellow bloggers, found them related, correlated them and sharing those with you without any single change in the original posts(in italics)...

GOD is missing, and they think we did it.

Two young boys, ages 8 and 10, are excessively mischievous. They are always getting into trouble and their parents know all about it. If any mischief occurs in their town, the two boys are probably involved.

The boys' mother heard that a preacher in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys.

The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually. So the mother sent the 8 year old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon. The preacher, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Do you know where God is, son?"The boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open. So the preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone, "Where is God?!"

Again, the boy made no attempt to answer. The preacher raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "Where is God?!"

The boy screamed & bolted from the room, ran directly home & dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him. When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "what happened?"

The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied, "We are in BIG trouble this time. GOD is missing, and they think we did it!"

And you know where God was!? That was breaking news in the process of searching;

God sends his resignation - I was supposed to make you in my image. Instead, you went ahead and cast me in yours. Enough is enough

This is the text of God’s resignation letter, which has been leaked to us by highly placed sources. The author wasn’t available for comment when we tried calling. If anyone would like to fill the vacancy created by this resignation, please write in to invisible@pinkunicorn.god.

Dear Humans

This is to inform you that I quit.

I have enjoyed being God for an eternity now—thank you for the opportunity—but I cannot bear the thought of going on and on like this.

Enough is enough.

I have informed my angels of my impending resignation, though I didn’t expect them to rush off to buy horns and black clothing right away. This Sunday will be my last day in office, after which I intend to spend some time with my family. (Ok, I’m kidding about the family. Heh.)

I started off badly, I confess. I was a beginning God and there was no road map, so what do you expect? My brief was to create a star, a planet and a satellite with a golf course. The rest of the universe wasn’t in the plans—that’s all the failed attempts. I was finally told that I could stop when I made earth, even though I got the golf course wrong. Still, I’m sure there are other entertaining things you can do on the moon.

Then, I was asked to populate the earth, and that’s when I had the most fun. I tried various funky things—I thought bacteria were pretty cool, and would rule the earth for sure. I also thought that of all the prehensile organs I gave my creatures, the bulk of the whale was much more useful than the opposable thumbs of humans. I mean, how much fun it must be to grip something with that?

But you guys triumphed, largely because I gave you greater computing power. Had I put in a few trillion neurons less, it could all have been different. (And perhaps I should have worked harder on the dinosaurs.) I admit I got carried away by you because you were the first creatures to notice that I existed. Look, validation matters, period.

Then, when you were just beginning to come out of caves and get civilized, I decided to take a nap. It’s hard work, all this creation, especially at the level of detail involved, and I was tired. And really, what could go wrong while I slept? Humankind was on the rise, using all its neural computing power to create new things, and I thought I’ll wake up refreshed and see a better world, and maybe I’ll get back to work on the moon after a snack or something.

Golf is good.

Well, it may seem like I’ve been absent for a long time, but a few millennia is nothing in galactic terms. So I wake up, rub my prehensile eyes, wrap them round the world, and what do I see? I see that you humans are running the place, which is fine, no issues with that. But then I see what you’ve done to me. I look here and go, “That isn’t me!” I look there and remark, “I don’t look like that!” I hear myself quoted and say, “I didn’t say that!” It’s a mess.

Now, I don’t want to get into little details, so I’ll just take up three broad points. One, I was supposed to make you in my image. Instead, while I was napping, you went and cast me in yours. I protest. I am not bigoted, misogynist, genocidal or egotistic. I look at how I’ve been portrayed in all the major religions and I’m appalled that anyone would even consider worshipping that.

The talk of worship brings me to my second point: Why have I been portrayed as corrupt? If I am supposed to reward people for their behaviour, why should prayer matter? I am not so insecure that I need to hear praises of me all the time? Or that I need temples or churches or mosques built to honour me, or any of the ritualistic things that you people do? You do not need to bribe me, Ok? Just behave well.

Three, why do you assume I need your puny protection? If anyone insults me and I’m petty enough to want to take action against them, there’s always lightning—or less subtle punishments such as Himesh Reshammiya music videos. Stop getting offended on my behalf, please. Especially the more devout ones among you, who embarrass me hugely.

I could go on forever about how all notions of me are corrupted, and used by men—yes, mostly men—for their own selfish purposes. But who will listen to me forever?

The one good thing I did was make you mortal, which I now realize is a feature and not a bug. Anyway, I accept culpability for creating a flawed product in the first place, and then for falling asleep. I’m disgusted at my failure.

Despite the anarchy I know it will create in heaven, which is getting kind of boring anyway, the only honourable option I have left now is to resign.

See you in Hell.

God.

futuristic

in continuation to my vision for future

It’s the brain which controls all the parts of body. You can’t judge the time even in milliseconds the brain sends signals to you organs. Just try... You can’t!! Before you think how, you would have executed the task. The brain is v.v.fast that you can’t easily calculate its speed. As I have written before the brain has billions of processors with limited formal memory.

It’s for sure that bio and nano techs are going to take over future. Nano enabled clothes are already on in the market and their specialty is that they control body temperature from the temperature outside. Nano has the power of converting thoughts to tasks. Bio tech enable ATM's are on, in our own TN state wherein thumb impression is the login and password for withdrawal of money. With those beginning, here is my idea;

The human nerves shall be equipped with bio enabled sensors that can process specific wanted behaviors into tasks. The tip of finger/any other specific location in the body act as touch points for triggering the tasks. Like this; if u willingly blink your eyelid for 3 times the object you see will be captured and stored in the nerves for some time., lets have that as 1 min., in the mean time you have a chip in your hand in which you make contact in a specific pattern, the image you saw will get stored digitally in the chip. You know what to do then!
Medical industry has started using artificial hearts. With such development I dont think its an uphill task to enable bio sensors in the nerves.

This might sound like the MI/AI/Matrix stuff...its not actually, this is just the local tripleR stuff...LOL...any comments/add-on??

swing till you swoooon...

I am hooked to the album jhoom barabar jhoom for this week. shankar-ehsaan-loy have come up with brilliant peppy tunes. The album is a sure hit and dont miss to hear those in a good stereo system or else you will not feel the music and my way will be to taste the music. Wondering how to taste music!! thats ecstasy...

The melody track from mahalaxmi; sukhwinder’s voice in the title track are my pick. Title track appears 3 times and each song excels. Now stop reading and listen to the tracks here. Keep swinging!

rain rain come again!!

It is always the unexpected happening every time, especially when it is an encounter with nature, that too in a city like Chennai. This is a season of mercury soaring to its peak. It’s horrible to be out at times like this in the city.

Surprisingly, there were showers on Saturday night. It lasted for just 15 min, but down poured heavily with thunder and lightening. I was watching a movie; electricity was cut; sneaking out that time, the thunder and lightening was far better than the visuals and sound in the movie ;) few lines flashed out and I penned those and was curious in knowing how they were and started disturbing my friends at that time of the day.

its raining! its raining!
with thunders and storm,
with lightening across the sky,
with an amazing pace,
in this summer,
in this city,

in my face,
its raining!!

Is it like the KG rhyme!? Yeah!! Sometimes, you need to go back to your childhood to enjoy certain things ( ;) LOL)

What made me raise my eyebrows was that the next day I heard that it had rained only in few parts of the suburbs and I was fortunate to have a feel of it this season!!

unnale unnale...

earlier this day, happened to listen to the track from the movie "unnale unnale". the lyrics went on like

netru enbadhu ninaivil illai,
naalai enbadhu kayil illai,
indru mattume nenjil undu thozha...

it sounded very good with the music rendered by harris. nice lines. in english it is

yesterday is not in thoughts,
tomorrow is not with us,
today is what we have in hearts...

so lively, past is gone, nothing can be changed even in future. just enjoy the days however it is!

vision for future!!!

Standing near the tower the other day I felt for not having a cam to click the aerial view of the city at that time of the day. I thought;

"How would it be if the lens I wear in my eyes be equipped with nano/bio technology and every blink of eyelid be converted to cam clicks getting a snap of moments and nothing I see great is missed to be cherished!?"

Hold on! There is a lot to think from here actually on how the pics can be converted to a physical form and the like. I am not getting into any scientific research now. But you can think on it and post it in comments. In the mean time is shall too think over it and try to post.

Dont comment its impossible! A typical PC has one processor and a lot of memory. A typical brain has billions of processors (neurons) and probably very limited formal memory.

C'mon, invoke the half baked scientist in you... think and jot down here!!! Nothing can stop you from imagining... :)

Update: Check out my next post futuristic on the same

moments!!!

I have roamed in this city through its length and breadth over years. There are still lots of places I haven’t been to. Some places like Mount Road, Kathipara Junction, Gemini Circle irritate me because of the traffic and also places like Pudupet, Egmore, Ritchie Street, Parrys Corner fascinate me for the pace, life moves on there.

But still this city has places and moments to be cherished;

Have you driven in Mount Road when there is no vehicle around?

I was doing this yesterday. I had to drive from Gemini to Tarapore Towers at 1 am in the morning. Believe me, that is a moment to be cherished. There were only mercury lamps glowing on the roads with yellow drill in the signals. Driving near TVS, the yellow drill in the signals till Tarapore Towers is something which you can witness only at that time of the day and it was simply awesome.

That’s not all; I was on top of a tower building with my office team for erecting up a new tower for our radio station. The view from there was new for me in this city. I felt new in this city that moment... Next time you pass on through Royola Towers, check out the new tower atop. That’s an exclusive tower for our radio station.

All my thought standing there near the tower was that I did not have a digi cam/mobile cam to click.

That’s where my vision for future triggered…Check out to know what it is…

ekam - update

I would request you to read the post titled 'ekam' before reading this post.

ekam post is completely my own thoughts written down. The same subject which is written there is actually preached long back by the saint monk Vivekananda. I was astonished on reading it (for the first time).

It is;

The caste system is opposed to Vedanta. Caste is a social custom, and all our great preachers have tried to break it down. Every sect has preached against caste, and every time it has only riveted the chains. Caste is simply the outgrowth of the political institutions of India; it is a hereditary trade guild. Trade competition with Europe has broken caste more than any teaching.

Thanks to my friend KK for sending it across to me.

Juicy Mangoes for 500 CC+ engines!!

01 September 2005 - Agencyfaqs reported;

“We do not have a presence in India yet and are keen on entering this market. We are now exploring the opportunities for our entry into India,” Harley Davidson Inc vice-president Timothy K Hoelter told The Times of India.

According to industry watchers, the Harley bikes would range between Rs 4 lakh to Rs 14 lakh in India, including the 60% import duty.

18 May 2006 - Rediff reported;

In the first week of May, the company's executives were in New Delhi, making the rounds of the commerce ministry.

Their agenda was to find out the government's intent regarding the emission norms on high-end motorcycles and to seek a reduction in Customs duty on the bikes, says government officials.

The wait is over now for the cult bikes to hit the roads. What is getting exchanged are juicy Mangoes - King of Fruits.

13 April 2007 - Department of Commerce, GOI reports;

"GOVERNMENT PERMITS IMPORT OF MOTORCYCLES OF 800CC ENGINE CAPACITY OR ABOVE SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS"

and

"Indian mangoes will enter the US market this season and the first export consignment of Indian mangoes for USA is expected to leave later this month. Both India and the United States had expressed happiness over this market opening for a major Indian agricultural product"

Harley Davidson is being given a liberal treatment of meeting Euro III norms instead of Euro IV norms. Mangoes were banned by the US govt for various non-trade reasons and also radiation hitches in the fruit.

Things are getting cleared and soon both markets will witness the new products on either side.

I will give you a dozen fresh juicy mangoes...Will you give me your car?? ;)

ekam

As far as I have heard from my childhood, neither The Bhagvat Gita, neither The Bible nor The Quran had the words Hindu, Christian or Muslim in those. They all contain teachings for the well being of humanity for all ages. Classifications existed among people based on their customs, region and professionalism. Later it got down to classification based on economics and then religion and caste emerged. There have been a lot of people like Jesus, Rama, Buddha, some n no. of years back to spread kindness and love. They were able to convince only a section of people while few others started yet another religion on their name and started making money actually. Then came another section of people like Ramanujar, Rajaram Mohan Roy, Vivekananda, Subramania Bharathi, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa who right royally fought in one or the other way for the discriminated giving them the equal status in the society. Whatever they preached and practised was not their ideas or works. They were much more ancient. Those people gave power to those ideas. We all have seen them through our eyes and still we doubt that "GOD is one".

The scenario today is religion and castes are not divisions based on God's. They are all created by some very intelligent human beings who know to gain money out of it. Those who follow are blind folded, those who dare not to follow them are fools and those who don’t bother about them are atheists. I always have a doubt; "If there are so many God's as we classify, the heaven should also be crowded with Gods and there will be a fight between them in heaven as like we fight on their names right!??"

I very rarely visit temples though I hail from a community which is called "Brahmin". Brahman is a person who has highly qualified in Vedas. I know nothing from Vedas. I have never even touched those scripts in paper. But, I have heard that the Vedas have nothing mentioned on caste or discrimination. But, history has Brahmins discriminating the society. All those were created by those who havn't understood the Vedas properly and tried to dominate in the society through casteism. History also has Brahmins who had fought to break all those and achieve equal status for all. Subramania Bharathi is a classic example. The same had happened across all sections of people.

Tirumala Balaji is considered as the Holy Diety for each and everyone across the world and thats what makes TTD record the second highest collection from one single temple next to Vatican City. People visiting Tirumala have immense faith on the Lord. TTD maintains 12 temples and their sub-shrines, and employs about 14,000 persons.

The Board has performed a utsav named Srinivasa Kalyanam(celestial marriage of the Lord) in Vemuru village which is predominant with Dalits(Yet another classification of discrimination. These people are not even allowed to enter the temple of the Lord). The deities were taken around all the main streets of the village. Usually the devotees have to pay INR 1000 to witness the ceremony in Tirumala temple. TTD has taken it free of cost to the devotees place. "This is an attempt to bring the upper caste and oppressed together" says the TTD Board Chairman Mr. Reddy. This ceremony has been performed by 40 Veda pundits lasting for one hour. They have also stayed in the village for the night and have gone around the village chanting Vedic mantras the next day morning. They have also ensured that the elders in the village sat in the rows to witness the Lord. "This activity will be extended in phased manner to other places in Andhra Pradesh", according to the Chairman (covered by Deccan Chronicle today).

I feel it should be extended to the whole India across sections. Definitely, this is a daring attempt to bring people together. I hope it gives a clear message to all who have their eyes closed till now on the matter written.

Let there be a positive change with lives :)

Hot News!!

Today's Headlines on MSN had news which almost made me feel like what the hell is going on... It read "Collector travels by bus". The Father of the Nation every time used to travel in 3rd class compartments. What is so special now, in a collector traveling in bus? HUH!! Of course, they need to know what happens with the public in a day to day basis as they are the people who actually work for the ministers.

But, there was a surprise for me when I looked to the article in detail. This incident has happened in my hometown, Madurai. Amazing! Isn't It! I now wonder why BBC hasn’t carried this news and only MSN has!!

tripleR strikes deal for Movies

Chennai, Feb 22: In a joyous note, tripleR, the 'what may come' attitude guy has honored a joint deal with his friend for watching one movie every week. "It’s a win-win deal for me in spending quality time on entertainment" says tripleR. His other entertainment options include chatting, blogging and more than all he loves spending time with friends often. If nothing is there in the schedule the option would be to sleep. The new option of watching 1 movie every week is a new entrant in his kitty and it is noted that all the movies will watched by tripleR in INOX hall alone. Sources close to him indicate that there is a major budget saving in the deal although the financial figures are not revealed.

The first movie watched by him under the deal was Music & Lyrics by Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore on Thursday. The movie was very pleasant and romantic according to tripleR. The next movie to be watched by him might also be on next Thursday, say sources close to him. So, folks who would like to catch him can expect him in INOX hall.

Blogs - A Glad news - A Responsibility

A glad news to bloggers who serve news on their sites. Check out the link below on the responsibility of bloggers in America. I feel the same shift will be in India as media is going biased nowadays. Blogs have become a source for authenticable information and moreover, the different views in blogs on a single issue gives different perspective of solving the problem.

Its not to be surprised that online journals and blogs will take over the print journals with tie - ups between blogs. If so, the advertsising industry will also see a major shift.

While internet has opened up doors to the world, blogs have utilized its share effectively and will continue to grow in a amazing way.

Hi All !! Its a new Template!!

Hold on!! Are you done noticing the changes in the blog. Just thought of having an interactive page with simple design and enough content. The result is what you are seeing now.

THANKS A TON to Deepa for helping me out with patience. Do check her blog http://beta-templatetesting.blogspot.com/, you will notice her skills in designing and coding. Amazing stuff from her!!

When decided to have a interactive page, the first thing to strike my mind was to have a chat box what you see in the left side(notice deepa's tips on improvizing ;)). Do leave your comments there. Then came the clock and Play It!! in the right side. Also thought of some music playing while the blog loads, so added the music player and the BGM with autoplay when the blog loads. But, it took long time for the blog to get loaded and hence got it removed(I liked the way the BGM played when the page loaded). Now, the three column page looks simple and good. Hope you too like the design. You can also expect good posts too. Suggestions are always WELCOME.

Keep visiting..Keep Commenting..

iPHONE

Apple has always been the leader when it comes to cutting edge technology and Digital Convergence. Probably Apple had followed it much before the word Digital Convergence came into being. Here is the next revolutionary product from the house of innovations in technology. I am not writing about the features. Just have look at the product which integrates a OS, mobile and a music device together into one.

Now, dont search for the keypad. This is a iPHONE from Apple - its touch screen.

And also dont start dreaming to own the product. Its right now available only with Cingular, which is not in India :(

ignored

Sometimes...... I Feel, You Don’t Remember
Sometimes...... I Feel, You Do;
All Those Words I Spoke,
All Those Letters I Wrote,
Asking You For Something.
My Question Remained Unanswered......
And My Wish...... Unfulfilled.
Guess...... Its Always Been So With Me...
Wonder How It Doesn’t Affect You At All !
Wonder.....what went wrong.
Its Been A Long Wait.......

Maybe..... I Don’t Even Expect
That Small Happiness From You Now.
Maybe..... In This Rush Of Life
Its Difficult To Spare Time For Me.
Or Maybe.... I Am Not Deserving.
Maybe...... I Won’t Ever Dare
To Ask You Something For Myself....
I Am Hurt...
My Dear Friend........ I realise,Tomorrow...... I Won't Be Here,But.......By You,
Today.......I Am Forgotten.
Today.......I Feel Ignored.....

This is written by my friend maddy. I was much moved by her lines and wished that she get in touch with her friend soon and thought I will share it with you all as well.

Maddy: No worries ok :)
